Over $3 Million Awarded to Local Cancer Patients

Since its inception in 2001, the Cancer Patient Support Foundation (CPSF) has awarded over $3 million to cancer patients and their families. On average, CPSF serves 500 cancer patients each year, helping to remove barriers to treatment by paying for their basic needs. CPSF is the only statewide fund supporting patients and their families regardless of need, age, financial status, or cancer diagnosis.

“No one is ever prepared to receive a cancer diagnosis,” states Sarah Wallace-Brodeur, Executive Director of CPSF. “The financial toxicity that goes along with a diagnosis has devastating consequences to patients and their families. Our goal is to help relieve some of this toxicity by providing financial support when patients need it the most. We want patients to be able to focus on their treatment and families, rather than if they have enough money to pay for their transportation to treatment, heat their homes or feed their family.”

CPSF is looking forward to their 25th Anniversary which will take place in 2026. A small group of the original founders and supporters have begun planning for this milestone with a focus on building sustainable funding so that CPSF can continue to provide this critical financial support to cancer patients and their families well into the future. Stay tuned for more details to come.
